What is NDA?

In India, NDA stands for National Defence Academy. It is a premier institution located in Khadakwasla, near Pune, Maharashtra. The NDA is a joint services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force train together before going on to their respective service academies for further pre-commissioning training.

The NDA is responsible for providing comprehensive training to cadets to develop their mental, moral, and physical attributes. The academy has a rigorous training program that includes academics, physical fitness, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Upon completion of their training, cadets receive a Bachelor's degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and are commissioned as officers in the Indian Armed Forces. The NDA is a highly respected institution in India, and many of the country's top military leaders have graduated from it.

What is SSB in NDA?

SSB stands for Services Selection Board. In the context of NDA India, SSB refers to the selection process that a candidate undergoes after clearing the written exam of the National Defence Academy (NDA) entrance exam.

The SSB process is a series of tests and evaluations that are designed to assess the candidate's suitability for a career in the Indian Armed Forces. The SSB process comprises two stages, namely the Stage I and Stage II tests.

Stage I includes Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT), which are meant to test a candidate's cognitive ability and personality traits. Candidates who clear Stage I move on to Stage II.

Stage II includes a battery of tests such as Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, and Personal Interview, which are meant to assess the candidate's suitability for a career in the Indian Armed Forces. The tests are designed to evaluate a candidate's leadership, team-working ability, physical fitness, and mental robustness.

Candidates who successfully clear the SSB process are recommended for admission to the National Defence Academy.
